Aboriginal Health College, Little Bay

The project consisted of a basement carpark and 3 levels of occupied space above. The ground floor included an auditorium, commercial kitchen, eating area and an entry foyer including a 3 level atrium at the entry. The first and second floors included classrooms, offices, administration areas and amenities. The project involved the extensive use of Australian produced materials with an emphasis on locally produced new growth timber utilized for balustrading, sun shading, wall cladding and ceiling cladding. The building was also designed to incorporate many ‘green’ characteristics including natural ventilation to all areas to alleviate the need for air-conditioning.
